We know that food packaging too often involves hard-to-recycle materials, and we’re committed to changing this. Our current plastic packaging contains an average of 60-80% reused plastic, reducing the environmental impact of traditional plastic feedstocks. We are committed to being part of an industry-wide shift – as a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, we want to eliminate hard-to-recycle plastics and continue to increase our use of recycled and biodegradable plastics.
Reducing our carbon footprint
At Local Bounti, we regularly assess our emissions metrics. We know that simply collecting and understanding our emissions data isn’t enough. Local Bounti is focused on producing carbon neutral leafy greens by 2030 and net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
